  • Carrot - 1 pc., 
  • Onion - 1 pc., 
  • Pickles - 3-4 pcs., 
  • Pickle juice - 1 cup, 
  • Mustard - 1 tablespoon, 
  • Bay leaf - 2 pcs., 
  • Peppercorns - to taste, 
  • Salt - to taste, 
  • Greens (dill, parsley) - to taste, 
  • Vegetable oil - for frying

How to Make Soup with Pork Ribs and Mustard

  1. Preparation of ingredients. Cut the pork ribs into portions. Peel and cut the potatoes into cubes. Finely chop the carrot and onion. Cut the pickles into cubes.
  2. Preparation of the broth. Cover the ribs with cold water (about 2 liters) and put on the fire. After boiling, remove the foam, add bay leaf, peppercorns and cook over low heat for about 1.5 hours.
  3. Frying the vegetables. Fry the onion in vegetable oil until golden, add the carrot and continue frying for another 5-7 minutes. Then add the chopped pickles and stew everything together for another 5 minutes.
  4. Assembling the pickle soup. Add the potatoes to the broth and cook for 10-15 minutes. Then add the fried vegetables and pickles, mustard, pickle juice and cook for another 10 minutes.
  5. Serving. Check the readiness of the potatoes and meat, salt to taste. Before serving, add finely chopped greens.
