Potato Casserole with Minced Meat

- Potatoes - 1 kg,
- Minced meat (beef or pork) - 500 g,
- Onion - 1 pc.,
- Carrot - 1 pc.,
- Cream (10-20%) - 200 ml,
- Hard cheese - 200 g,
- Salt, pepper - to taste,
- Vegetable oil - for frying,
- Greens for decoration
How to Make Potato Casserole with Minced Meat
- Preparation of products. Peel the potatoes and boil them in salted water until half cooked. Peel and finely chop the onion. Peel the carrot and grate it on a coarse grater.
- Preparation of minced meat. In a frying pan with vegetable oil, fry the onion until golden, then add the carrot and continue frying for another 5 minutes. Add the minced meat, salt and pepper to taste. Fry, stirring, until the minced meat turns brown.
- Assembling the casserole. Cut the boiled potatoes into thin round slices. In a baking dish, lay out half of the potatoes, then a layer of minced meat, and cover with the remaining potatoes.
- Baking. Preheat the oven to 180 degrees Celsius. Slightly warm the cream and evenly pour it over the casserole. Sprinkle grated cheese on top. Bake in the oven for about 30-40 minutes, until golden brown.
- Serving. Let the casserole cool a bit, then cut into portions and serve, sprinkling with fresh herbs.
