How to Make Russian Honey Cake

  1. In a saucepan, combine honey, sugar, and butter. Put it on low heat and, stirring constantly, bring it to a boil.
  2. When the mixture starts to boil, add the baking soda and mix well. Remove from heat and let it cool.
  3. When the mixture cools down to room temperature, add the eggs and flour. Knead the dough.
  4. Divide the dough into 8 equal parts. Roll out each part into a thin layer and bake in the oven at 180 degrees Celsius (356 degrees Fahrenheit) for about 5-7 minutes.
  5. While the layers are cooling, prepare the cream. For this, mix the condensed milk and butter until smooth.
  6. When the layers have cooled, spread them with cream and stack them on top of each other. Leave the cake for several hours (or overnight) to soak.
  7. Before serving, the cake can be sprinkled with powdered sugar or crumbs from the remaining layers.
